How PiP Screen Translate handles your data.

On-device first

Screen capture, OCR, and translation run locally when supported by your device. Screen content is not stored. PiP Screen Translate is built to keep translation on your device whenever possible.

No advertising trackers

We do not embed third-party advertising SDKs or fingerprinting libraries. No cross-app tracking. We do not sell data or track you across apps.

Data we collect

  • Diagnostics: Crash reports, error codes, and coarse performance metrics to improve stability. These logs exclude personal content.
  • Settings: Preferred languages, caption style, and overlay position saved on device.
  • No account required: PiP Screen Translate works without sign-up.

Data sharing

We do not sell or rent your data. If optional cloud translation is used, text snippets are sent securely to the translation provider and discarded after the request.

  • No advertising partners, no third-party analytics beyond crash reporting.
  • Secure transport: all network calls use HTTPS.
  • Vendors must meet or exceed Apple's data protection requirements.

Your choices

  • Revoke permissions: Disable screen recording in iOS Settings at any time.
  • Delete data: Remove the app to clear local preferences and stored transcripts.
